Paper Primrose Flower Tutorial

Here is tutorial for a paper flower. Sorry for the image quality, I was in a low lighting setting when making these flowers. The flowers are really easy to make and I was able to make one in less than 15 minutes.

Items you will need
A large flower punch or a die cut machine (I used the Cricut)
A small flower punch or a die cut machine
A leaf punch of a die cut machine
Ink ( I used Colorbox)
Adhesive/glue ( I used Tacky Glue)
A wook skewer stick or quilling tool
Water in a spray bottle

Step 1:

Punch 2 flowers and from the large punch and 3 from the small punch spritz the flowers with water. Be careful not to over wet the punched flowers.

Step 2:

Ink the flower edges. Next using the wood skewer, curl/roll the edges of each flower petal inward. You can also crumble the flower slightly to give it texture before you curl the petals. Let all the flowers dry before moving to the next step. This
will only take a few minutes.

Step 3:

Glue one flower layer over the other, staggering the petals.

Step 4:

Ink the floral sprays. Fold each spray in half and glue to flower center. Make sure you glue the sprays in a circular design around the flower center.

Step 5:

Glue a flower center over the attached floral sprays or you could use a brad.

Step 6:

Punch or die cut four leaves.

Step 7:

Ink the lef edges.

Step 8:

Fold the leaves in half. Make sure the leaves have a sharp fold.

Step 9:

Using your skewer or paintbrush handle, roll your leaves around it tightly.

Step 10:

Slightly fold back the leaves the opposite way of the curling.

Step 11:

Glue 2 leaves together at the base staggering slightly.
Glue the leaf clusters to the underside of the flower.

Step: 12:
The flower is completed:

"A Rememberable Embrace" Scraps of Darkness

This is the last photo I had taken of Violet before she passed away. It just hit me that this is the last photo of her.... I remember this day so well, she was having a great day laughing, teasing and talking. On this day, Violet participated in the 3k walk for a fundraiser for Childhood Cancer. I just happen to have my camera and took this picture of Dalton embracing Violet. I remember as we were leaving the event Violet asked her big brother Dalton for a hug and wanted him to carry her to the car. I miss her so much and her birthday is approaching on 1/27/11, she would have been 8 years old. I miss her so much, I miss seeing her smiling face and hearing her roaring laugh. It is comforting to know violet is happy right now and she is no longer suffering, hurting or in pain. Life will never be the same....without Punky

"Sugar Plums"

I completed this LO a few weeks ago and just had time to post on the site. The photos here are photos of my scrapping buddy's children. I pulled out some old Christmas papers from 2 years ago, I finally used the entire stash of the Fancy Pants winter pps and embellishments. I used the sketch designed by the talented Beggahuna.

"Always A Beauty" **Scraps of Darkness**

Another LO of Violet. These pps in this kit are amazing and the pages are so easy to create with a beautiful result! It has been so cloudy in Ohio with no sun, I am hoping the sun appears on Sunday so I can re-post the LO. This photo does not do these pps justice.

"Created" " White Magic" Scraps of Darkness January Kit

This is a LO of my BF's daughter who passed away last month. I am trying to get a book made for her mother's birthday. Violet was developing into a beautfiul young lady. My reason for the title "Created" is because Violet was created for the camera. When Violet was a baby, she could strike a sassy pose for the camera. There are two things a girl should be: Classy and Famous, and Violet had them both!
Miss Piss! Miss you sweet Angel!

" Rough" ***Scraps of Darkness***

This is photo of my husband when he was a child with his bike. According to the stories of my mother-in-law and my hubby he was a rough and rugged boy. Once again, I easily created an alternative page with December's kit " Times Flies". I am really happy with the end result of this page. Check out the kit at Scraps of Darkness. http://www.scrapsofdarkness.com/

Awaken My Heart

This is a photo of my friend's son climbing the stairs. This is some old paper from a couple years ago from Fancy Pants. I usually do not use glitter or Stickles because I don't like the clean-up, I took the plunge and used glitter on the flourishes and flower. I made the flower embellishment with some lace and metal tag. Thanks for looking.
