"Destination"
I created this using the May Scraps of Darkness kit called Destinations. This a photo of my father when he was young, he is now in his mid-eighties. When this kit arrived I thought of my father who traveled the country driving on trucking destinations. This is based on the "Destination Sketch" for the Destination kit.

Here is the "Winter Wishes" Sketch for December

My First Layout is based of this month's sketch

This layout is of sweet Alex... I used distressing ink and a distressing tool to created the distressed edges. Added a stamp sentiment, a few rub-ons  and I cut the flourishes using Spellbinder die cuts.
**********

I love creating alter pieces, I found a unfinished wooden tissue box at a local thrift store.  I cut the papers, adhered them to the box, stamped a few flourishes, added rhinestone flourishes and paper flowers. This project is very quick and easy.  I usually give away most of my altered pieces...not sure if I will give this one away or keep it. I am thinking about placing it in my office.

 **********
I used Spellbinders dies and embossing tools, added a few paper flowers to create this card.
**********
I made this for a scrapping friend for her retirement gift.
**********
Another layout of Alex...I love this soft photo of him, he is growing into quite a handsome young man.
I distressed the edges with a distressing tool and distressing ink. I added many layers of fabric and paper under the photo.

Hello! Charlotte here today with a scrapbook layout that is bright and colorful and features Colorbox Dye Ink and twine by the Twinery...what an awesome combination.   I really enjoyed making this layout using these two fabulous products.
Capture that one special moment, such as celebrating the arrival of a new beautiful bundle of joy.... This is my cousin, feeding her precious sweet new granddaughter
Emma Ruth..what a priceless precious memory to capture.

Give your page some pizzazz by stamping several circular images with vivid color Colorbox Dye ink. Cut the images out and mount the images to a piece of heavy card stock.  Adhere several of the circles to the page with pop-dots.  The 3-dimensional circles bring a burst of color to a very simple page.

Add texture to your page by coiling bright colored Twinery twine onto circles of chipboard. Cover a chipboard circle with adhesive and coil the twine, starting at the center of the circle. Seal the outer edge with a small dab of liquid glue.
Wrap a  layer of paper with Twinery twine and add a coordinating colored button. Wrap twine several times around one of the paper layers before adhering the paper layer to the page.

Altered Basics Blog Hop

Welcome to the Altered Basics Blog Hop! The Clearsnap Design Team is inking and altering our Basic Necessities, a variety of packaging materials and containers released at the CHA-W 2012 show in Anaheim, CA earlier this year. These "Basics" allow you to create custom inkpads, mix your own color combinations of Smooch Spritz and glitter, as well as provide a blank canvas for cute altered gifts, like the adorable tins our My First ColorBox Stamps are packaged in. You might recognize packaging from some of your favorite Clearsnap products like the salt shaker style jars from the Donna Salazar Designs Fairy Dust Glitter, an uninked ColorBox inkpad, and the Clear Boxes our Smooch Spritz Assortment Packs are packaged in. We think these Basic Necessities will allow your creativity to soar!

We're also excited about giving away a set of select Basic Necessities items as prize for one hop commenter! Just click on the blogs each day, browse through the post and check out the "Altered Basic", and then leave a comment about your favorite Basic Necessity to be entered to win.

For an extra entry, post the secret phrase "I love the Basics!" on our Facebook Page here: http://www.facebook.com/Clearsnap
