This LO was created using my "Purple Haze" sketch.This is a photo of my grandmother and my grand aunt. These two girls were so close and always together. Every time I view this photo my imagination just goes wild. I imagine seeing the two of them playing as children and as young women. I miss them both very much! I used the " Purple Haze" kit by Scraps of Darkness.

Today I am sharing with you how to create  " A Personalized Stamped Candle". This candle is a quick and easy thoughtful handmade gift that will bring a smile to the face of the person who receives this gift. These candles are always a big hit every Christmas.

Directions for the Personalized Stamped Candle

• If you want to create a distressed look, use an open flame to burn the edges of the photo. If you want a clean look, cut the photo down to fit the candle. 

                                   

• Ink the edges of the photo with Ancient Page Petal Point Option Pad Earthwork Ink Pad

                 

• Loosely tack the photo to the candle using adhesive.

                                 

• Cut a strip of wax paper and wrap around it directly over the photo, taping the ends of the wax paper to the candle. Wrap the wax paper around the photo so it fits tightly around the candle. 

           

Move a heat gun back and forth over the photo until the photo appears to fuse to the candle. You will know the image has fused when the edges of the photo are firmly adhered to the surface of the candle.

• Slowly lift the wax paper off the candle. The photo should rest smooth against the candle, there should be no gaps or lifted edges.

     

• Press a rubber stamp onto a Colorbox Dye Ink Pad and then stamp the tissue paper. 
• Cut the image out of the tissue paper with scissors.

• Place the tissue paper stamped side up over the candle.
• Lightly sprinkle the candle with Clearsnap Glitter.

• Cut a strip of wax paper and wrap around it directly over the tissue paper, taping the ends of the wax paper to the candle. Wrap the wax paper around the tissue paper so it fits tightly in place.


• Move a heat gun back and forth over the stamped image until the image and tissue paper appear to fuse to the candle. The image is fused when the tissue paper looks faded through the wax paper.

• Slowly lift the wax paper off the candle.  Continue to add stamped tissue paper images on the candle until you are satisfied with the design.
• If there are any rough or uneven areas on the candle, use a cotton cloth to buff out the uneven areas.
• Your candle is complete!

• Wrap the candles in cellophane bags and close the bag with ribbon.  Add an embellishment and tag to the candle. 

• The tag provides directions for burning the candle.  If the candle is burned in relation to the size of the candle's diameter, the stamped image will remain translucent and radiate through the liquid pool of wax. If the candle is three inches in diameter, the candle needs to burn for three hours. Over burning and under burning the candle will not allow the candle to burn evenly.  An even burned candle will have a hollow center. After blowing out the candle flame, gently hug the side of the handle with your hands. Stop burning the candle when one inch of wax remains.

I am sharing another quick and easy gift " A Vintage Christmas Ornament". Who would not love to receive a handmade sparkling Christmas Ornament to place on their Christmas Tree?

Directions for Vintage Ornament

• Paint the chipboard snowflake with green acrylic paint. When dry, apply a coat of Clearsnap Glue Gloss to the die cut snowflake.

• Sprinkle Clearsnap Cotton Candy Glitter into the Glue Gloss. 
• Carefully lift the snowflake and hold it perpendicular to your work surface. Gently tap the edge of the snowflake to remove any loose glitter.

• Cut a 3 inch circle. Tap the Stylus Tips blending tool on the ColorBox Graphics 45 Decades Venetian Lace Dye Ink Pad to pick up a small amount of ink. Now using the Stylus Tips blending tool, blend the ink into the paper.

•  Using the Standard Rollagraph Music Notes Design Wheel, roll the wheel, horizontally over the paper circle. Distress the edges of the circle with ColorBox Mix'd Media Leather Inx.

• Apply a coat of Glue Gloss to the entire edge of the circle. Sprinkle Clearsnap 24 Carat Sparkle Fibers into the Glue Gloss. Carefully lift the circle and hold it perpendicular to your work surface. Gently tap the edge of the circle to remove any loose Sparkle Fibers.

• Cut out an vintage image and adhere to the center of the circle. Stamp " Believe" on separate piece of card stock with ColorBox Graphics 45 Decades Triumphant Red Dye Ink.                                   
  

  

  Punch a hole in the top of the snowflake and add a coordinating piece of cord.

• Cut out the stamped image and distress the edges with Colorbox Black Pigment Ink. When dry, adhere to the lower center of the circle. Add a few small embellishments such as flowers or pine cones.

The next layout is for the Halloween Movie Contest sponsored by Scraps of Darkness.     My favorite horror

film is "Psycho". I used photo from the original and modern film, however the original is my favorite.  This movie freaked me out as a child. I hated to take a shower in a motel.  Ugggg, that creepy Norman Bates.  I used a piece of wax paper to try mimic a look of a shower curtain with a hand print, oh course a signature of the movie Psycho.
